Change embedding models, keep the index.
teleon.dev/docs/spaces keeps eight matched distance and hashing families and learns rotations between embedding spaces, so a new model can read an index built by an old one.
The bridge lets the new model query the old index while a fresh index builds.
What it does
Eight matched families
Each embedding space pairs with a distance and an LSH family that fit it.
Bridges between models
A Procrustes rotation maps one space onto another.
Swap with confidence
Bridges are checked on holdouts before traffic moves.
The contract
A space record names its model, distance, LSH family and any bridges.

Words on this page
- Embedding
- A list of numbers that places text, code or images in a space where similar things sit close together.
- Procrustes bridge
- A rotation that maps one embedding space onto another, so a new model can read an old index.
- LSH
- Locality-sensitive hashing: near-duplicate items land in the same bucket, so similar things are found fast.
- Holdout
- Test data kept apart from training and tuning, so scores on it show real performance.
