Light paths simulated before they are built.
teleon.dev/docs/photonics lays out silicon photonic waveguides with gdsfactory and simulates optical interposers with Meep FDTD, so loss and coupling are known before fabrication.
Simulated loss came in under the target, so the layout was kept with its spectrum for the interposer build.
What it does
Layouts as code
gdsfactory builds waveguides, couplers and interposer layouts from parameters, so variants are quick to make.
Full-wave simulation
Meep steps Maxwell's equations through time (FDTD) to measure transmission and loss.
Checked against the target
A layout is accepted when its simulated transmission meets the target in the request.
The contract
A run names the layout, the wavelength range and the target; the result reports simulated transmission with the layout file.

Listed paths appear in the service’s published files today. This surface comes from the Teleon Omnibus Codex v1.0 to v50.0, Oct 25, 2026. In the one-host plan every path here is served under api.teleon.dev/v1/photonics.
For agents
Give your agent the read-only guide first. It reports back before any write.
Words on this page
- FDTD
- Finite-difference time-domain simulation: steps Maxwell's equations through time on a grid to show how light travels.
- Waveguide
- A structure that confines light and guides it along a path on a photonic chip.
- Optical interposer
- A layer under side-by-side chips that carries signals between them as light, through waveguides.
