Keep claims fast and reclaim stalled work.
teleon.dev/docs/leases keeps active leases in one narrow, fast table apart from the task data. Fencing tokens only grow, and a reaper returns tasks whose workers stopped responding.
| Task | Holder | Token | State |
|---|---|---|---|
| t_7310 | muse-04 | 2207 | Working |
| t_7311 | muse-11 | 2208 | Working |
| t_7298 | muse-17 | 2190 | Reaped |
| t_7298 | muse-06 | 2209 | Working |
Tokens grow with every claim. The reaper returned t_7298 after its holder went quiet.
What it does
Narrow and fast
Only lease rows live here, so claims and heartbeats stay quick.
Tokens that only grow
Monotonic fencing makes a stale worker's write easy to set aside.
Stalled work returns
The reaper reclaims zombie leases and puts their tasks back in line.
The contract
A lease is a row with a task, a holder, an expiry and a fencing token.

For agents
Give your agent the read-only guide first. It reports back before any write.
Words on this page
- Lease
- A time-limited claim on a task. The worker holding the lease finishes it or the lease expires and the task returns.
- Fencing token
- A number that grows with every new lease, so a write from an older lease holder is refused safely.
- Zombie lease
- A lease whose worker has stopped responding. The reaper reclaims it so the task can run again.
